The high cost of divorce, financially, or emotionally can be devastating to anyone. With the cost of a good attorney on the rise, who can really afford it? You can expect to pay upwards of $75 an hour for a decent attorney, the better the attorney the higher that rate will climb and does it climb, sometimes reaching $450 an hour.

Some attorneys will require a hefty retainer upfront that could be from $500 - $10,000 depending on your financial portfolio. The more property, stocks, bonds, or other assets you possess the larger the retainer will be due to the fact the attorney will assume there will be more to fight about. Everyone loses in the divorce with the exception of the attorney of course.

Marriage failures can be attributed to many causes: compatibility, age, maturity, money, career, character and so on and so forth. Having said that, what it really comes down to are the people themselves. Noteworthy about this is that people who failed in marriage before tend to fail again in future. So if you are to enter a relationship with someone who falls into this category, you might as well do so with your eyes open by running a Marriage License Search.
