A wedding or bridal registry is a system designed by department stores so engaged couples are able to manage the purchase of wedding gifts. The couple creates a list of desired items available at the store, then the list is made available to wedding guests. As soon as a gift is purchased, the list is updated so that the item is no longer available for purchase by other guests. This to prevent that a single gift is bought multiple times. It’s a win-win situation for both the couple and the guests. The guests are sure they bought something the couple will value.
